Hiking Trips #

One big perk of studying in Munich is how close it is to the Alps. Time to make the most of it! We’ll take you up into the mountains to enjoy the view together. The hike to the summit is a great chance to get to know your fellow students. And what better way to bond than conquering a mountain together? If the weather isn’t playing ball, we’ll figure out an alternative plan.

Saturday is Hiking Day! #

You can choose between the following tours:

  • Herzogstand and Heimgarten (approx. 7h): This classic of the Alpine foothills offers a ridge hike with fantastic views of the area south of Munich and the northern Eastern Alps, covering a good 1000 meters in altitude. Attention: sure-footedness and a head for heights are required here! Meeting point: 7:45 AM at Hauptbahnhof (Main Station)

  • Wendelstein (approx. 5h): The path leads us from Brannenburg to the Wendelstein, which houses probably one of Bavaria’s most famous transmission facilities. Here too, you should be sure-footed and have a head for heights. Meeting point: 8:15 AM at Hauptbahnhof (Main Station)

  • Andechs Monastery: For all those who want to take it easy. We’ll go from Herrsching to the world-famous Bräustüberl – naturally with a proper lunch break. Meeting point: 10:00 AM at Hauptbahnhof (Main Station)

We will travel by train (Wendelstein and Herzogstand are outside the MVV area!) – so please bring your own valid ticket (e.g., the Deutschlandticket).
